Swords, Mr. Richard Earl Spring Lake Mr. Richard Earl Swords, age 91, passed away Monday, November 29, 2021. He was born in Muskegon, MI on February 5, 1930 to Earl & Lyla (Simonson) Swords and served his country in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He married the former Delores Brace on October 21, 1950. Mr. Swords had been co-owner & operator of Port City Paints until retiring in 1989. Richard attended Berean Church, enjoyed boating, sailing, golf, fishing and wintering in Florida at Punta Gorda. SURVIVORS Daughters, Cynthia (Kenneth) Kamp, Linda Marie Swords; grandchild, Daniel Kamp; granddaughter-in-law, Cindy Lenting; great-grandchildren, Lauren Lenting, Carter Lenting, Kaylin Kamp, Kenzi Kamp; sisters, Barbara Rasmussen, Kathryn (Chuck) George; brother, David (Karen) Sword; sisters-in-law, Janice Swords, Lois (Chuck) Byer; brother-in-law, Jack (Marcia) Brace; his business partner & dear friend, Leigh Strong many nieces, nephews, cousins & friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Delores in 1999; grandson, Richard Kamp; brother, Donald Swords; sisters-in-law, Elsa (Donald) Bromley, Donna (Gerald) Bomers, Barbara (Kenneth) Essenberg; brother's-in-law, Paul Vandenberg & Cecil Rasmussen. SERVICE Monday, December 6, 2021, 1:00 PM with visitation one hour prior to the service at Clock Chapel - Muskegon with Rev. Ken Shady officiating. Interment in Oakwood Cemetery.
