Eleanor Devries

Mrs. Eleanor DeVries, age 97, passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2019. She was born in Manistique, MI on January 1, 1922 to Fredrick & Christina (Salter) Hanson and married Cornelius Neil DeVries on August 28, 1942. Mrs. DeVries had been a teacher's aide for Orchard View Public Schools for 15 years until retiring. Eleanor was a long time member of Broadway Baptist Church and enjoyed crocheting and crossword puzzles. SURVIVORS Son, Tom (Linda) DeVries of Muskegon; daughters, Judy Huddlestun of Montague, Janice (William) Stambaugh of Muskegon; grandchildren, Brian Huddleston, Jake Stambaugh, Eric Stambaugh & Makayla Stambaugh; brother, Louis Hanson of Muskegon; sister, Joann (Jay) Kline of IN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Neil in 1992 and sister, Shirley (Ronald) Frenette; sister-in-law, Bernice Hanson. SERVICE Monday, February 25, 2019, Noon with visitation starting at 10:00 AM till Noon at Broadway Baptist Church with Pastor Brian R. Jackson officiating. Internment in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
